Soma iz kāzu pūralādes / Bag as a wedding favor

Kā jau iepriekšējā ieraksta komentāros varbūt lasījāt, uz nedēļu esmu atstāta bez fotoaparāta. Rokas tā vien niez kaut ko publicēt, tādēļ atcerējos, ka neesmu atrādījusi somu, ko darināju savām otrajām kāzām kā vienu no pūra veltēm.

My husband went on a week-long business trip to Turkey and took the camera with him, so I can't take any pictures until he returns. As my fingers are itching to publish something, I decided to show you the bag I crocheted as a favor for my second wedding.

Lai vārdu salikums "otrās kāzas" jūs nemulsinātu, atklāšu, ka mums ar vīru bija divas kāzas: oficiālās notika maija beigās pirmdienā (saskaņā ar vēdiskā astrologa ieteikumiem), tādēļ viesu pulciņš nebija tik kupls kā varbūt varētu vēlēties un mēs izmantojām izdevību ātri vien aizmukt projām romantiskā ceļojumā uz otru Latvijas galu, līdzi ņemot vienīgi fotogrāfi, savukārt otrās tika rīkotas vasaras vidū neformālā, latviskā gaisotnē pie dabas krūts un uz tām ieradās prāvāks viesu pulciņš.

To unveil the truth about "my second wedding", I'll tell that my husband and I organized two weddings altogether. The first one, according to Vedic astrologer's suggestion, took place on Monday at the end of May 2009 and many of the invited people couldn't participate, so we seized the opportunity and soon after the ceremony at the registry office went on a small romantic trip across Latvia, taking with us only the photographer. The second wedding was celebrated in mid-July. Almost all invited guests could participate.

Tieši otrajās kāzās viens no pasākumiem bija pūra dalīšana, kurā visas lietas bija manis radītas. Katram kaut kas labs tika! Mana jaunākā māsa saņēma jau pieminēto somiņu. Pirms dažām dienām viņa laipni piekrita to nofotografēt un atsūtīt man bildes. Es no atsūtītajām un personīgajā arhīvā esošajām fotogrāfijām uztaisīju kolāžas, kuras sniedz ieskatu ne vien dāvināšanas procesā, bet arī parāda pašu dāvanu.

The second wedding was rather close to the Latvian traditional wedding and included also the "tuckering" ritual ("mičošana") when the crown of the bride (me) was taken off and the headdress of a wife (a tucker) was put on. Afterward the crown was put on the head of my unmarried youngest sister, Iveta.

One of the activities after the "tuckering" was gift giving to all the relatives from the bride's dowry. All wedding favors were created by me, also the previously mentioned green-and-orange-coloured bag that I gave to Iveta. A few days ago she kindly agreed to take some pictures of the bag and send them to me. I created two collages featuring wedding and gift-giving process and the gift itself.

  2. Paldies, Anna!
